Problems and Warrenty Questions

Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

I have an M15x and have some things I want to be fixed. I got the 3 year warrenty for the laptop. Here are my problems:

- The 'T' Key on the keyboard pops out all the time (I just want a new keyboard, because its also quite worn)
- Both hinges are cracked
- The rubber on the power cord is gone (near the brick), and there is the exposed wiring

I was wondering if I could send in the laptop (and power cord in) in and get all of this fixed. Would my warranty be void after this? Also, for people who have sent theirs in because of hinge problems, have the repairs solved the creaking and wobble issues too?

Thanks

. How old is your laptop now?

. From Alienware general warranty FAQ:

- not sure if your (worn) keyboard falls under workmanship

- warranty should not be void because of some repairs performed from the manufacturers themselves.

. Have you tried talking/contacting Alienware direct?

cheers ...

Call Alienware Technical Support.

They will ask you to send some pictures of they keyboard and the case and after evaluation they will issue an RMA for you to return the system and have the case and the keyboard repaired. You can also report the issue with the AC adapter for them replace it with a new one.

DO NOT attempt repairs yourself as it will void your warranty, let Alienware handle all repairs and replacements.

We apologize for this inconvenience, as other members have suggested, please call our support line to address this matter, the system will be required to be shipped to our facility to replace the hinges. Also, make the agent aware of the issue you are having with the ac adapter and keyboard. Please back up your data before sending the system, as a policy we do a clean install of Windows prior shipping the system back to the customers.

If you have any other questions, please send me a PM.

Thank you.
