This performance is ok?

Hi, this is my first post here and I hope that you guys can give a hand with a question that don't let me sleep (although I'm new here I'm not by no way a newbie ).

The situation is the next:
I have a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9339 (the specs are below) and I feel that something is wrong with the performance that I have in games. In example Crysis for me is only playable (it keeps somewhere between 25 and 35FPS) at 800x600 with all settings at the minimum, and having a Go7900GS seems to me that something is not working. And I don't no what could be the problem, I have tried every possible combination in the drivers setting, without any other program running, different drivers, overclocking my 7900GS, playing with the BIOS options, changing BIOS, etc. The only think that I haven't tried is to switch to XP. So my question is if this is accordance with my notebook specs?
I have my suspects in my HD speed, but as I know that isn't something very significant for game performance.

Specs:
Intel C2D T7200 (2GHz, 667MHz, 2MB)
nVIDIA GeForce Go7900GS 256MB GDDR3
2GB DDR2-667 (2x1024)
Fujisty 200GB 4200RPM SATA
17" 1440x900 screen
Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit

I hope that someone could answer my question, as I want to sell my P105 to upgrade to a Gateway FX P-7805u and I need to decide for a selling price (I'm from Chile so don't bother in giving my prices, I only need to know the real performance to do that :P).

Your problem can be summed up by the game you're playing. Crysis is murder on computer systems. There's nothing wrong with your computer.

Thanks, although I did assume that the answer would be something in that lines. But now this rises another question, because in the same place in where I'm selling mi P105 there is someone else that is selling a Packard Bell MB89 (specs below), and is claiming that he can run Crysis at medium/high and CoD5 with all maxed out, although it doens't say at what screen res. But compared to my experience, I in CoD4 (I haven't try CoD5) it is only playable at 1024x768 with all at the minimun, and I think that no one would play at max details at 800x600.
No the problem is that I assume that between a Go7900GS and a 8600M GT the difference should be similar to the difference between the desktop models (7900GS and 8600GT), but as you see the results doesn't match. It is so superior a 8600M GT, even with DDR2 memory, to my Go7900GS? Because he is selling his PB at a significant lower price that I'm selling my Toshiba .

Specs MB89 (as he states in his sale):
-Intel C2D T5450 (1,66GHz/667MHz/2MB)
-2GB DDR2 667MHz
-HD: 250GB SATA (I would assume that is a 5400RPM HD)
-15,4" WXGA (1280 x 800) screen
-GeForce 8600M GT 512MB (I'm not sure, but I have the impression that yesterday also says DDR2, but seems that this guy hae deleted that part of the info, I will try to find if it really have DDR2 or GDDR3)

The 7900 GS and 8600M GT ought to have fairly similar performance, with your graphics card being a bit more powerful. If he's stating that he can run games at full settings that you can't (and with a slower processor, no less), he either lowered the resolution to minimum or he's just lying.

I would almost guarantee that he has the DDR2 version of the 8600M GT, since to my knowledge the only companies that got the GDDR3 version of that card are Apple and Asus.

One reason he may be selling his computer at a lower price than you are selling yours is because Nvidia released a notice that virtually all 8400M and 8600M graphics cards had a manufacturing defect and could develop problems.

Thanks again, and again I have though that the answer should be something like that well, except for the last part, I didn't take in count that announce from nVIDIA. I will ask him about the screen res used, and for some SS as a prove of what he says, and also why he is selling his notebook so cheap (it is US$100 below of the price that put to my notebook and something like US$200 from the mos similar that you can buy new, a Dell Inspiron 17 with a HD3650 and with a T6400).
But for the moment I don't want to discart any possiblities, and that include the fact that he is telling the truth and I'm doing something wrong, but I can't think in what could be .

Thanks again for the help .
