Hm, kinda x-posting this.. sorry if it's breaking any rules.

Plans/Needs/Whatever:
Replace desktop with one of these 2.
Getting back into the FPS gaming world.
Staring a screen for long periods of time programming.

Question:
I've been reading up a bit on the P4 cpus in notebooks. The Mobile P4 is more energy effiecent of the 2?

Anywho, which one/build would you guys recommend?

How's the battery life compared to the 5650 though?

If I read the specs correctly, the 5660 is using a desktop P4 cpu?

I just bought a 5660 w/the dual battery. Ran it last night on both batteries for about and hour and 20 mins before it shut down and warned me to plug in due to low batteries. I think I had about 12-15% battery life left. Don't know what a 5650 will give you.

I also debated about getting the 5650 but due to the USB 2.0 and the Radeon 9000 and the 2.53 GHZ I chose the 5660.

yowzers! Dual battery still only gave you about 1 1/2 hours? What were you running during that time?

As I recall I was mostly just surfing on the web, renamed some photos files and did some photo editing.

How much battery life should I expect ?

I am just a novice and don't run complex programs, mostly, money management, word processing, photo editing, web surfing.

Using the dual battery tonight and it is lasting longer, been on now for one hour and it reads 60% remaining. At this rate I should get about 2.5 hours.

I think what happened last night was the the second battery wasn't charged up and I only had juice in the primary.

5650 battery life

Wow! I have a 5650 with dual battery - I get 3-4 hours at least - that's with gaming, programming, surfing, etc. I bet you didn't have them fully charged.
