TIM Tests

Here are results of a test I ran comparing Arctic Silver 5 vs Innovation Cooling 7 Carat Diamond.

XPS w/7950GTX

XPS w/7900GS

E1705 w/7900GTX

IBM T61p w/Quadro FX 570M

Besides lowering temps, the IC7 is non-conductive.

Makes sense that the 7950GTX would run the hottest. Pretty extensive work you've done. Nice job.

Thanks. I am trying to locate some 1mm thick copper to do the GPU's memory shim mod. I think that will help bring the temps down some more.

On what system are you running these tests on?

Four different systems:

Yes, I was impressed by the temp drops. I am going to be changing the rest of my laptops over to the IC7 TIM.

I had better luck finding copper sheet metal at Ace Hardware. I tried every where else and it was either tubes or thick sheets.

Yea, I can find all the shim stock a person could ever need, but no plate. Thanks for the pointers.
