Which Video Card?

Im not a major game to be honest. I just like playing a few nice ones like:

Left 4 Dead
Battlefield II
Team Fortress II
COD 4
Far Cry II

Those arent THAT demanding. But heres my question. What is an ok graphics card that can play the far cry and COD on medium settings? whats a graphics card that can play those on high settings? and then low settings?

And i was thinking, maybe i can just play simple games like, TF2, L4D and BF2 for now, and then upgrade it later? are there any laptops that will allow me to do so?

Those are about as demanding as you're gonna get. What would you consider more demanding other than Crysis?

ermm..i guess GTA and stuff would be the other level...

My point is, I have no idea which graphics card i really need. Ive never been much of a gamer cept for the simple ones and i really dont want to spend more money than needed. The lappy will be 15.4" or around there and ive seen some that have 260M GTX or an HD 3450....so i just want to know what do I need... [not considering Far Cry and COD would be a start - then i wanna know if there are some i could upgrade later]

Check out our benchmark database where we have a whole database full of video cards and the games that are run on them.

Nvidia cards:
8600M, 8700M, or 9600M should play all of those games on medium I'm guessing. If the resolution is low enough, they will probably even play these games on high.

8800M, 9800M, 260M, and 280M are the more powerful cards that will definitely play the games on high.

I have not kept up with all the new GPU's now so there may be more you can add to this list. I don't know anything about the ATI cards.
