Help Sony Tr3a Turned off and wont Power back on?

I'm not really sure how to fix this. For a lil while I was needing to replace my hard drive. I finally got around to do it. Installed it and Loaded all my drivers. It worked awsome, but i kept on getting an error telling me my hard drive was about to crash.. after about two months. one night my wife was watching a movie, and the computer froze with sound messing up. So i powered it down, and when I went to power it back up. nothing happens.. no noise, the fan don't move, i mean nothing.LCD screen wont even light up or power up. I can hear the hard drive though.. Let me know if anyone can help... The only thing i noticed that it could be is the ribbon that connects the electronics under the white cover "wireless/power" to the mother board. where it plugs in is a lil worn, and it looks like some of the contacts "lil medal strips on ribon" are touching.. Would this cause my computer to flip out like this? If so where could i purchase this ribbon, or how would i fix my poor laptop?

Some notebooks and hard drives actually have warnings letting users know if a hard drive is experiencing errors. More than likely it did crash. It's possible to recover the data if there's no physical damage. I would recommend getting a new hard drive and see if the computer boots with the new hard drive installed. If it does, that means the problem was with your hard drive.
