is this laptop going to be good for gaming?

Just bought this laptop from HP. I wont be doing a lot of gaming, but I do have this game called World in Conflict and the requirements are really hard to match. If this laptop can play it, it seems like i could play anything. let me know if this is a good setup:

. Yes, your machine GPU belongs to the high class performance there is out there at the moment. It should and would play anything that is being thrown at

Well, I cannot say anything against such a strong spec machine. Make sure that you get appropriate extended warranty, when it is possible.

As Q said, it should run World in Conflict fine, as long as you don't max out the settings.

notebook computers in general are more problematic than other consumer goods, and so if you pay an extra $100 for an extended warranty, that can save you $300 down the road if something major breaks.

Oh. That makes sense. When would I buy the extended warranty and how long do you think it should be? I plan to use this laptop all throughout college, which will be hopefully 4 years when I start in September.

You generally choose a warranty when you buy the notebook. And the length of the warranty you want is somewhat a matter of preference, but I'd personally get the longest one that's under $200 extra, since after that you start to approach the actual cost of replacing a major component.

Well, the laptop has already been purchased, so maybe ill be able to buy the extended warranty a little bit down the road, since this laptop was fairly pricey.

extended warranties (from the brand) can also generally be purchased within 30 days of purchase. However, after that, you're on your own. If you can't afford one now, don't sweat it. The majority of problems that develop happen in the first year (if they're going to happen) anyway.

Okay. I read online that the laptop comes with a 1 year warranty:

Warranty 1-year limited hardware support
Support 1-year limited software, 1-year limited hardware support
