I'm not sure you are gonna like how one 8700 performs. Then again, the SLI 8700's aren't too much of an upgrade...

I wondered the same thing, couldn't afford the $600 price jump to SLI. Ill let you know how it performs.

I'm curious. Can the single card notebooks be upgraded to SLI? I know they have kits to upgrade from the 8700 to the 8800 SLI's, but am curious if a single card notebook can be upgraded to a dual card notebook at a later time.....

Yeah, you can buy an SLI video card later and replace your 8700 with it.

Well you can replace your card (one GPU on it) with another card (with two GPU's on it). Just wanted to differentiate that from being able to just buy a single card and add it to your single card setup to get SLI (you can't do this).

Wow, the thread held out for a solid 3 posts before the obligatory 8700 statement. Impressive.

You know it really really sucks for me that Dell decided not to put single GPU's in the 1730's anymore. Just a week after I ordered one.

Now the 1730's come standard with SLI GPU's at no additional cost. So for the same price I paid for the single GPU a week ago, today I can order the same exact configuration, but this time with SLI GPU's.

Son of a ......

Whats the restocking fee? 15%

So $221 to send it back for a refund lol.

The upgrade to SLI was $200...

So if I sent this one back, ordered a new one with the same configuration, but this time with the SLI, it would only cost me $21.

Deep thought.... If I do send it back and order a new one, Ill order the new one in my moms name since she works for Dell and I can get even more of a savings. Didn't think to do that before.

just return it for a full refund. cant you still do that within 21 days. if you have time left start getting bsod and random shutdowns. keep complaining and on the last day say im sick of this, i want my money back

Return it and order one w/ 8800M GTX or better.
