m1530, new motherboard and graphics card.. low fps???

basically i had a problem involving my display and I was told from these forums that it would be my motherboard and graphics card,

eventually get DELL to come round under warranty, really nice guy confirms the problem and puts a new motherboard and graphics card in the laptop, display then works.... everything great !!

then...............

I start to play l4d new DLC and the fps are soo low, im getting around 30 tops when I used to get 70+ !

The night before it died i quickly got a game of l4d in and the fps were low then, now I have it fixed and the fps are the same as when I had my broken laptop,

I thought a new motherboard and graphics card would have sorted it but not really !!

also my mouse is a bit delayed when shooting? possible problem there??

thanks for this guys !!

Confirm we are talking about a 8600m GT? I will go with my thoughts as if it is?

OK the MoBo replacement would be because the GPU had heat related failure and the GPU and MoBo can not be separated in a practical way.

Can you run 3Dmark06? I ask because it could immediately indicate a problem. I would like the composite score and the three scores that make up the composite. I guess I don't really even need the composite just the SM 2.0, SM 3.0 and CPU score but all wouldn't hurt.

So much could be happening. I have many ideas so don't want say before more input as not helpful. I would also like you to have CPUID Hardware Monitor for temps. It shows highest lowest and current temps of CPU, GPU and HDD. Also What does GPU-Z report your clocks at? Both before and after running 3DMark? I have concern DeLL's way of addressing known heat issues is to undercclock your GPU?

All applications I listed are free.

basically, I did what you said but could only use 3dmark 05 as thats the only one I had,

before the test I clocked temps at 60 - 65

after test I clocked at 78 - 80

I didnt get a composite score ect,

I got an overall score of 6569-3D marks, and 549 cpu marks,

I had (before my laptop died) clocked temps at around 90 !!!

any use to you??

thanks again man

yes, my specs are,
nvidia gforce 8600m gt
320 gb 5400 rpm sata hd
2.4ghz core 2 duo processor T8300
4gb ddr2 ram.....

anymore details ?

Your CPU score is the problem! Could be others but CPU sucks! If 3DMark06 CPU should be say 1600? So a problem?

On further thought noway a 549 CPU score and that 3DMark score?

Comments?

Ok, after he changed my motherboard and graphics card, When i turn my laptop on, im greeted with a message saying that my laptop charger is on a 65w, and my laptop requires a 90w supplier, yet the battery pack says its a 90w??

could this be a problem ??

More likely yes. You will be starving your comp when running on battery and AC and charging.

cheers ...
