M6400 Covet RGB LED screen profile

Has anyone successfully calibrated the RGB LED screen on the M6400 Covet using a colorimeter?

I have a Pantone Huey Pro and I'm getting really bad results after calibration (washed out colors, greenish cast). After about 2 months of back and forth with Pantone they have told me that "maybe" my colorimeter doesn't have enough range for a screen with such a wide gamut. The "maybe" part, which suggests they don't even know their own product, is what I find unbelievable.

In any case, if anyone has successfully calibrated it and could tell me what colorimeter they used and send me a profile to test on my laptop I would be really grateful. I'd just like to run a test before forking out more money for something that just "may" solve my problem.

Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer other than saying as someone who has 20 years experience in the ink industry (in technical Flexo, Gravure, Sheetfed, Heatset and coldset technical managment roles) who has also written his own spectral to LAB/RGB conversion software (for various projects) that there is no perfect answer. Proofing between various systems have always been problematic.

The reality of any electronic proofing equipment, or display system will always struggle to achieve accurate colour results and the reality is that it is always in the eye of the beholder. Spectral calibration equipment can improve the colour accuracy but will always be prone to various.

Oh and at least feel comfortable that Pantone can't achieve consistent colour accuracy in the their pantone books year after year.

Thanks for the reply Philby. I'm familiar with the problems of color consistency across systems, and that when changing to a new system (new screen, software, colorimeter,...) I can expect to see some differences.

However I'm talking about a big difference here. In fact a difference so big that, if I was to take it that using "proper" color management is going to give me variations with this kind of tolerance, it would mean I might as well throw color management out the window.
