Battery will not charge on D870PBAT-8 Ver 1.0

Hi,

Does anyone know why my battery will not charge on the D870PBAT-8 Ver 1.0?

Sometimes if I unplug the AC adapter, the battery will work for about 5min, then die. When I plug the AC Adapter back in, the battery takes a full charge, but when I plug the adapter, the battery may last about 5min, and sometimes, the system will just shutdown, because there is no power after I unplug the AC adapter.

Do I need to just replace the battery, or maybe there is a system issue?

It's probably an old battery. Batteries will die over time. You should ask your question in our battery reseller sections. They deal with batteries for a living.

Steve is right. The battery has most likely lost its charging capabilities over time. One thing you can try to do is a battery calibration. Sager can guide you through it. They can be reached at 800-741-2219. Good Luck!
