M1730 upgrade

Hi everyone,

I just got my m1730 recently. I am wondering if it is worth to upgrade my cpu. Is it a big difference to upgrade the cpu for gaming? Thanks.


my specs: T8300@2.4Ghz, 4GB@667Mhz, Dual 9800M GT SLI, windows vista home premium 32-bit.

well you already have the best GPU there, so upgrading the CPU would give you some increase in peformance depending on which CPU you get

Also depends on the game. CPU hungry ones like the source games will benefit greatly from a better cpu, while most others will be more GPU hungry.

I would like to upgrade my cpu to X9000 or above, but it seems difficult to buy it in uk.

I am afraid it is simply difficult to get a hand on it in Europe, as a whole :-((

I had some luck on Ebay, but many there are Engineering Samples.

Now I also bought ES and had no problems so far either.

. ebay buyer as in dave-p? The avatar states Canada.

. eBay sellers of ES samples? Most are Far-East based, I believe.
