. Contact the one who owned it before.

. You can try to remove the CMOS battery and re-install, and hope for a reset.

. If not - send it back to the manufacturer.

cheers ...

I recommend that you invest in a service manual - search for "Lifebook C1110D service manual" on the net, and go from there. It is a good cheap investment.

Other than that, I can only say that the CMOS battery can be located underneath the keyboard.

I tried the CMOS reset trick with a Sony to reset a BIOS password and it didn't work. BIOS passwords are now most often stored in the actual BIOS chip, so the only way to change them is by knowing what they were (i.e. talking to the previous owner) or calling the company to see if they have a backdoor method. Please note that if you call the company you will have to provide proof of ownership.

Your next legal move is to call the manufacturer itself.

Any other talks/discussions about bypassing BIOS and hardware security are a NO-NO at NBF.

I know, it can be

Sometimes, just SOMETIMES the passwords can be reset by flashing the BIOS.

See if there are BIOS updates for the system or try to flash the BIOS with the same version.

Look at this link.

There you can find an ISO image to create a startup CD with the utility to flash the system's BIOS. As I said, sometimes passwords can be erased by flashing the BIOS with the same or a later release but this is not always guaranteed as BIOS chips from different manufacturers work differently.

Let us know if this works.
