ok one and all. i am looking for an expert opinion and help here. i am looking at upgrading my processor in my d900k. i currently have a amd athilon 64 X2 4600+ which is 2.4ghz and i want to move up. i have been looking at a upgraded athilon 64x2 maybe a 3.0 or a 3.2 ghz. the problem is and this is where you experts come in. i need to up the wattage to acomidate the 3.2, can i do that? the next question i have is can i use a newer am3 socket processor in my clevo. i have heard form several places that they have made the new processors backwards compatible so that they will work in a am2 or am2+ board, with a bios upgrade. the question to the experts is can i upgrade to a nice shiny new phenom 2 quadcore?

The good news is that you don't need to mess around with wattages to upgrade your CPU. Your chipset will deliver the needed wattage to the new CPU.
The bad news is that the most powerful CPU you can put in your machine is an FX-60 at 2.6 Ghz. Your computer supports socket 939, not AM2, and so you can't possibly upgrade to anything faster or with more cores.
