SDHC and External not working on 64 Bit Vista

I just bought a new 64 bit Studio XPS and it will not recognize any of my SDHC cards using the built in card reader, or Western Digital 250gb USB passport.

It will recognize my USB Thumbdrives (8gb)

I rely heavily on SDHC cards.

Each time i plug one in, it asks me to format, but it won't actually format.

Is it time to send this back already? Does anyone have the same problem?

So much for a super computer....

I've had a similar problem, but with Windows XP 32bit on my D820. Never would recognize any USB drives or USB card readers. I pretty much had to reformat and reinstall Windows to fix the issue. I never could find any answers on this problem.

After two hours online with Tech support, my WD Passport is finally working, but the Card reader still won't recognize my SDHC cards.

The tech (and his supervisor) finally ends the session telling me that the Studio XPS 16 does not support SDHC cards, Sorry, you may want to look at another laptop.... WHAT?

This morning, I think to myself "Self, this can't be true" so, I look in the manual online, and sure as heck, it states that it DOES support SDHC...
