with battery bay to you, look in the upper right corner of the opening. You should see an unused minicard connector. right behind it is a 2pin, black and red, twisted cable. use some tweezers to gently pull up on the cable. This cable is the CMOS battery cable. once removed, let unit sit for about 3 minutes. plug cable back in and power unit up.

is your keyboard working? if so, update your bios to 3813.
Resetting the CMOS worked for me! Thank you kindly. Saved my time and my client money. Thanks.

I have a Acer Aspire 5950G, I got the same issue before I loose the "right CRTL", now its permanently not working.  After a few months 1,3,q,t,u,p,-,j,num 5 are not working...  but this is random, sometimes it works, sometimes not.  I want to try the cmos clearing procedures.  But I done know if we have the same location of CMOS pins.

Have you tried Michelle's post above and see if the pin cables are at the same place first?

cheers ...
