m17 vs m17x - differences ?

hello
i am interested in a laptop .. i went from dell xps 1730 , to the m17 w/2.8ghz chip.. before i order this .. what alienware laptop is better??? m17 or m17x

According to Dell and Alienware's website they are calling the latest notebook the Alienware m17x.

The Alienware Area 51 m17x was the old one...it has Area 51 in the model number.

The release time line would be:
Area 51 m17x - mid 2008
m17 - November 2008
m17x - Summer 2009
