guys, go and read the ATI 4870 x2 mobility review from FIRINGSQUAD.COM: http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/asus_w90vp_review/

98% from firingsquad is very impressive. Just look at the FPS in the game play. The FPS @ 1920x1080 with AA @ 4x & FSAA @ 16x is just insane for a laptop.
Current GTX 280M cannot match those figure, trust me. xtopic said single GTX 280M beat ATI 4870 x2 mobility? Why do you think they're lying to you? To sell their product. It's like going to nvidia forum website and ask which is better GTX 275 or ATI 4890...what do you think they will say?
Firingsquad said these 4870 x2 has DDR3 so the performance is comparable to desktop dual 4850 in crossfire...very impressive. I can't wait til in the near future where Asus put DDR5 in 4870 x2 mobility...wow

I think Asus did a great job with the W90. For $2,200 you get
18.4 Full HD (1920x1080) Color-Shine (Glare-type),Asus Splendid Video Intelligent Technology
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8ghz...can be OC to 3.3ghz.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 x2 512M DDR3 VRAM (Cross Fire)
6GB (3x2GB) DDR2 800mhz ram
2xSeagate Momentus 7200.3 in raid 0 (320GB)
Built-in 5.1 Channel Altec Lansing Speakers
12 cells: 8800 mAh battery.

I think T9600 OC to 3.3ghz (almost as good as desktop E8600) is comparable to i7 940 because except for GTA iv, no current game utilize more than 2 cores. Beside, gaming is almost always about the GPU.

I myself is a big nvidia fan but when ATI makes a good product, you have to aknowledge it. I owned AMD FX 60 @ 2.9ghz & 2x7800GT sli, then 7900GTX, then 8800GTS 512.
Now GTX 295 with Intel E8500 OC to 4.22ghz. I game at 2560x1600

Neither does XoticPC. The $85 was for an additional 320gb 7200rpm HD. I originally purchased two and put them in raid 0. But, I decided that for only $85 and changing to raid 5, disaster recovery was well worth the price.

While we are on the subject of raid 5. When I upgrade to SSDs in a year, how is that done? One at a time while allowing time inbetween to allow the raid to reconfigure? or something different. What are the options? Pros and cons, etc...

i wish they would let us overclock these nehalems in these machines nowsince the D0's came out you would be able to get way higher then stock clocks at stock voltages and still run cool right in these lappys. right? i think?

I just went to the Sager Web site and I swear the 9280 is the same case for the notebook I bought from Sager almost 4 years ago. Isn't this the case where your palms eventually wear out the palm rest from the heat?

I even think it was a 9xxx model then also.

You're right DarkHelmet. The 9200 series notebooks all have the same or very similar casing. With regards to the palm rest issue, I know that is something they had been working on to improve.

Hi GreyReaver

You can have RAID 5 with SSD drives as well so long all 3 hard drives in the machine are SSD drives. Hope this helps.
