So will you be getting yours today you think? (It will arrive today, I just hope it is early in the day instead of at the end of the day.)
I started a new thread entitled, "Sager NP9280 Owner's Lounge" where we can post our comments, problems, issues and praise for our machines.

I don't see the need for another thread with very much of the same topic here.

cheers ...

I am still updating Vista Ultimate, but, I only have a Windows Experience Index of only 3.3. Because my "Disk Data Transfer Rate" is only 3.3. All of the other indexes are 5.9. How do I improve my DDTR? Or, is that the max with (3) 320gb 7200 rpm HDs in Raid 5?

A storage controller driver issue may be?

RAID 5 is a poor performer

Looking forward to the rest of your review!

RAID 0 will yield a mixed bag of performance changes (sometimes better, sometimes worse) to read/write performance, depending on the physical layout of the files being read/written.

RAID 1 will reliably yield up to Nx read performance (where N is the number of drives in the array), but also reliably yield exactly 1x write performance.

Is there any software that can fine-tune Raid configurations?

Let me Google that for you

I've been waiting for a reason to use that. I hope you take it in the humorous manner that it was intended.

Keep us updated if you find a way to fix the low disk transfer score...That would suck if we can't get that where it needs to be at a 5.9

After the Volume initialization process finished. I ran a new performance test and my data transfer rate is now 5.6, it probably didn't help that I was playing WoW at the same time. btw, I am getting between 45 and 50 fps in wow.

perhaps someone can help me. I downloaded 3dmark and pcmark vantage. but, instead of the installer initializing, vista asks me which program i want to use to open the files??? I have deleted the files and tried re-downloading and saving them to no effect.

any ideas?

You can use this to make your benchmark official on NBF

If you have issues with the benchmark submission, just post them here and we can work it out together.

Thanks for the update. Anyone else who is experiencing trouble with this score should open the intel matrix storage and management program (should be pre-installed) and double check to see if everything is operating properly on their hard drives and RAID setup.

ty for reading these posts and following up on them. It gives me a lot of confidence in pcTorque as a company.

BTW, are my 3dMark scores about the same as what you are getting? if so, I have to say I'm not impressed with the "benchmarks." If not, what can I do to improve my scores? For example the new nVidia beta driver?
