Well........It appears as though the "fix" was short lived. It IS the Nvidia Graphics card, which now, appears to be a well known problem. The card overheats due to faulty/lousy materials, heats up too hot, then cools down fast, and soddering points break...causing a crash. My computer is back in the shop, for the third time in a month, for the same issue. Nvidia has admitted fault, but so far, that means nothing for people with broken laptops. The patches are supposedly temporary at best, new drivers that cause your fan to come on early, and stay on....etc. If you have one of the affected cards, try to keep your computer as cool as possible. There are lawsuits flying, but for me, I have a nice $600 laptop that will probably not live longer than another month or two, if that.
