Hey guys,

i want to buy a notebook.
it should be a perfect one for movies and music..that means...great sound and great Picture.

i have some models to choose.

- Acer Aspire 5536
- Acer Aspire 6530
- Toshiba Satellite A300D
- Toshiba Satellite L350D
- Toshiba Satellite A300

My favourite are Acer Aspire 6530 and Toshiba Satellite L350D

So,which one is the better one?

and one more thing..the Notebook should last for a quite long time since i mostly let my notebook almost 24 Hours on.
I had HP Compaq..the Display is broken after almost 2 years.

hope somebody out there can help me and gve me an opinion.

Thanks

What's your price range?
Just a quick glance over the specs, I would take the Acer, better screen resolution and better gpu card.

If you don't get a lemon out of the bag, your laptop should last you a long time, depending on how well you take care of it. My HP n5430 is still going strong after 5 years.

cheers ...

Please refrain from making "similar" threads. I have merged 2 of your threads. If you feel that this one takes precedent over the other, let me know, so I can close one for you.

Specs wise, I would take the 6530G. With the price the same, then a definitive yes.

and I merged the third one in here. If you're still trying to basically decide between the same computers, there's no need to make multiple threads about it.

ok,thanks.
is a Cooler actually ecessary?
Probably not necessary, especially if you're only using it for movies and media and such. If you play any games on it, it may be a good idea. But then again, a cooler is never a bad idea. I'd recommend getting one even if you don't need one.

Hi there,
i have another Notebook to compare to Acer Aspire 6930..and it is Lenovo N500.
what do u think? which one should i take?
The Lenovo comes with an Intel Celeron Single Core, the Acer a Core 2 Duo.

I would personally stay with the Acer.

do u probably know whether the keyboard on Acer Aspire 6930 shiny or not?

wel,,i don´t like shiny keyboard since they left a fingerprint, especially when your fingers are dirty.

since i want to buy online,i don´t know about the look of of the Keyboard.

what about this typ? Acer Aspire 5738,6530,5536 ..which hasn´t shiny keyboard?

what do u think personally..which one would u buy? Acer Aspire 6930 or 6530 0r 5536?
I am not sure about what you mean by shiny keyboard. They are either plastic or aluminum based devices - based on all notebooks that I own. And dirty fingers will leave marks, no matter what you have.

As mentioned earlier, my preference would be the Acer 6930, giving the consideration of the prices you presented.

Is there a store where you live, that you can come by and take a physical look on the models?

i mean plastic or alumunium..u understood me alright :-)

so.u would take 6930..maybe i´ll do what u say.
no,unfortunately there are no stores where i can take a look at 6930.

u know, plastic keyboard is always more shiny looking than alumunium.
and i don´t like plastic..
and 6930 keyboard is from plastic?

one more thing.

u think VLC is the right player to watch HD Movie? epecially 720p.
or do u know any other software?
cause on some software, the movie moves sometimes slowly..if u know what i mean
post #18 of 60
Plastic is a bad choice of word, for looks. The keys are made to last a long time, and the whole keyboard does not look cheap.

My Acer 5920 keyboard is still going strong after these years.

What exactly HD Ready (720p) means?

does the picture quality also superb if i don´t watch HD movies? like usual DVD Rip.
i mean..does this HD Ready makes so much difference?

. HD: High Definition

. 720p : a category of HDTV video modes. The number "720" represents 720 lines of vertical resolution, whilst the letter p stands for progressive scan. Currently 1080p is being considered FULL HD (High Definition).
