This is more for other people's information than my own. I upped my RAM from 2gb to 8gb and when booting afterwards, the system would repeatedly hang before the BIOS screen. I removed each module one at a time, finally getting down to zero and putting my old RAM back in. The problem persisted. Apparently when the amount of system RAM changes, it scans everything for quite a while or something. I really don't know why. It took nearly 5 minutes to boot the system. After that, I rebooted and it was fast as can be. Anyway, it was kind of nerve wracking and I was upset by the whole thing, so I'm hoping maybe someone will see this and be able to avoid the same stress I went through.
Also, here is the Dell service manual with instructions on how to get to the modules. http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...0/en/index.htm
