You got a new Alienware without a video card? What card did you install?

I would meet up with your friend and going through the installation again, to be sure that it was only the gpu that was being needed.

So, it started before? Recheck your dis-assembly and re-assembly

the tear down and re assembly was fine it wouldn't turn on before the new graphics card? I thought about what it could be and have no ideas. any ideas??

You mentioned that it was up, but only with a white screen, which could also be a bad screen.

Now it won't start ... I would put everything back to the way it was, and plug in an external monitor to see if you can see anything.
