vgn s360 recovery disc

Hey all - first time on the forum here, looks like an active community!

Im hoping somebody may be able to assist me with locating a recovery disc for my s360, as a few months ago the HDD stopped working (cant recover from the partition) and I cant seem to locate the recovery disc I made.

I tried installing windows 7 and looking for device drivers for the video & audio cards but was unable to find them.

Anyway, if anyone is aware of somewhere vista drivers or the XP recovery .iso would be downloadable that would be groovy.

Thanks in advance

All XP & Vista drivers should be available here:

thanks ghn, however I've already tried there - the vista drivers listed do not include audio or video card drivers. They're listed for XP only. Unless I'm missing something...

For audio, you might want to try this driver:

For video, you might need to go direct to ATI and see what is the latest one for the card.

Thanks again for your response, ghn!

I can try the audio driver, but I have definitely already tried ATI for the video driver. Unfortunately they request that drivers for the Radeon 9700 Mobility must be gotten through the manufacturer (each one is somewhat custom, from what I understand). I found information suggesting that i could find a download on their website called "dhmodtool" that could possibly enable modification of the standard version; i cant find this anywhere either. Sounds like an older option to me which isnt available anymore.

Any other thoughts?

been there, done that...

he doesnt have ATI drivers available for vista32.

unless XP drivers can be used in Vista. I read somewhere that the audio drivers can (which I plan on trying as a last resort so long as I can get the screen working appropriately with functional video drivers)

I ended up procuring a copy of xp, installing service packs, drivers, etc...

And then creating an image for next time this happens.

I can make a backup DVD for anyone that needs...
