Sony PCG-R505ESP - CD-ROM code 10 error

Thread Starter
I recently got a CD-ROM that was for the PCGA-DSM51 and other docking stations. The reason why I got this since my original CD-ROM isn't working right anymore. But the problem I' am having is that it says that my CD-ROM is "epson dl-v100 ieee 1394 sbp2 device"

I don't think Windows XP detected the CD-ROM right since it gives a code 10 error and can't start. I basicaly need help so I can make my CD-ROM work
right.

My notebook is the Sony PCG-R505ESP.

Thanks

Actualy I found out that my CD-ROM is from Matsushita and the model number is UJDA730. I read what it says on the CD-ROM and it didnt say anything about Sony it said matsushita on it. I basicaly need a driver to make this work so I can use my CD-ROM for my Sony notebook.

I need more help since I can't find the right one that I can use. I did just wanted to try to do a fresh install of XP but I can't even do that since the CD-ROM doesn't run the Windows CD at boot.

The only 2 things - that I can think of - that could cause the optical not being recognized is that either it is bad, or it was being set up as master or slave from factory (for that dock) that your Sony notebook would not recognize.

I would try another drive though.

cheers ...
