For photo editing I would like to calibrate the LCD in my M9750 but if some one here has done this already and would share their settings it would save me the money and effort.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

A monitors output can be adjusted to conform to a standard by using a device that measures the output. The devices are usually bundled with software and cost between $100 and $2000. If everyones monitors and printers were calibrated to have identical output, then the same photo would l00k the same on all of our monitors.

Here are some example applications. When I edit a photo, I adjust the colors and brightness. It would be ideal if my final product looked the same on other peoples monitors. If I print the photo, I want the print to look looked identical to the image I see on my LCD. If I copy a photo to a CD and ask a pro print shop to print it out, I want it to look like it does on my LCD.

I tried but come to a conclusion that you cannot calibrate notebook LCDs without the help of a 3rd party "paid" software.

Hello, I am afraid that to adjust your LCD screen to a printer you will need to purchase a device and software that reads your screen ( something like a ColorVision Spyder). There are no two screens that show the exact same color. That will be due to the age of the screen (you start losing the red color first) or the settings of the computer.

Also you will need a ColorMeter and software for your printer. You will print of a page of color blocks and use the ColorMeter to to adjust your printers settings.

The ideal settings for both (adjusting for red, yellow and blue) is about 7600k.

In addition to that you must test your equipment about once a month.

Hope this helps.

PS. the best place to purchase this type of equipment is at a camera shop

I need to make a correction (it was late and I was half asleep). The true color you are looking for is 5600K (true white).
Sorry about the mistake!
