youtube on iphone

I plan to put some videos on youtube to be viewable on iphone and have a couple of questions:

1. What bit rate (audio/video) do you recommend for talking head video (h.264)? I want it to be playable via 3G with a clear picture with minimal to no buffering.

2. Is there a way I can get more than 10 minutes of video on youtube? I searched on youtube but could not find an answer

Any other tips or suggestions are appreciated. I will be converting the video from DVD using the Fair Use application. Thx in advance...

For better viewing in Youtube when it comes to iPhones, it is better to keep it at a resolution of 640x480.

Some may argue that it is "not" the best resolution nor the prettiest, but we're looking at 3G here so smooth streaming and network performance is of importance.

H.264 is recommended, keep it at about 15 frames per second, and keep audio at about 64kbps-128kpbs at 22000Khz.

To be able to upload more than 10 minutes of video you will need a director account but you must contact Youtube for that. And they won't allow using the director account for uploading complete TV shows for yourself, they will only allow material to which you have the rights to distribute or use.

Yea only people that has a direct's account can upload longer than 10 min of video.

What you can do though it download the videos, either through keepvid.com or by some other means, you can edit them through a video editing software. (I use sony vegas) you can pick a free software like the one that comes with your computer. And follow Moidock's instruction for resolution and bit rate.
