fastest notebook for $1000

i'm looking for a notebook with the highest processing power possible for $1000. i'm not interested in video / audio / HD / optical drives.

the only are requirements are:

OS: xp pro
ethernet port
2+ usb ports

$1000

any ideas? thanks much

NP9098. Problem is it has a HD4650? At XoticPC. Have a look.

Just found one with a 2.93 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor (the fastest dual-core CPU you'll find that's not an extreme edition) on the Dell Outlet for $950

It was a Latitude, so choose "business notebooks" when you get to their outlet site.
