P-173x fx replacement parts

I have a P-173x fx and I am needing a part replaced on it. Gateway voided my warranty saying I physically broke it. Anyway, the part I am needing is the battery latch on the bottom of the case. It is the one near the center of the board, not the one towards the side. I was wondering if I can just get that latch and replace it or if I am needing to get a whole new casing. If I could br directed towards a link to what the part number is, I can go from there. Thanks in advance.

I didn't see anything in there for chassis parts. I think I am going to have to take it apart and look for a number that way and search by that. Thanks for the help though.

You can contact them and ask them first, as well. They might be able to inform you, without you having to take the comp apart.

not that I condone.

but the latch may still be inside. typically the plastic button on the bottom snaps onto the actual plastic latch, and usually a small spring as well. assuming that is all that is wrong with it the plastic part may be loose on the inside.

you could always try taking it apart and seeing, but I do not recommend this unless you have complete confidence and a little bit of experience.

I just got back from being out of town and haven't really tinkered with it but I know for a fact something broke inside. I have no problems taking it apart, I repair my friends' laptops all the time...kinda sucks having to fix my own though. I need to call that place mentioned above and see what they can do for me, hopefully I can get some part numbers.
