MT3422 Problems

Hi, I have a gateway mt3422 notebook thats been very problematic for me. I've suffered through a dead LCD screen and constant overheating but my most recent problem is probobly the worst. REecently I upgraded my drivers through windows update for the wireless network card and the network adapter. After shutting down it wont turn back on. The dvdrom light flashes but then nothing happens. Not knowuing what else to do I checked to make sure everything was properly connected and replaced the wireless card with another one (intel pro2200BG) I had from an older laptop since this was really the only thing I thought might work. Luckily it did work for a short while. Last night I accidently downloaded updates for the wireless and network adapter. Now the same problem and neither card will work. I would think rolling back the drivers would possibly fix this but I have nfi how to do that when I cand boot it up. Strangly the old laptop I swiped the intel card from boots without one.

Just curious if there was any particular reason that you started updating drivers. Was there a previous problem. Or were you just trying to fix something that wasnt broke.
