Dell Adamo... your thoughts.

Thread Starter
I've been asked to purchase a new laptop for an executive @ work and was wondering if the Adamo should be considered.
It is only 13.4" (1366x768) and only 2 USB ports that I could see from the pictures on Dell's website. Is the screen gloss or anti glare?
I did not see any external video connector. Can anyone confirm if it is possible to hook up an external monitor?
Is it possible to install XP Pro on it? If not, what about Vista Business? It seems to only come with Vista Home Premium.
I want this person to have a laptop as good looking as her, lol.

Thanks for your input.

Probably could be connected to an external monitor, using some sort of USB or eXpress adapter. The screen is LED driven, so it is toward the glare type.

You can upgrade to Vista Business if you choose. But for a lady? I would like recommending, no offense to Dell's fans, something like macbook or this one

cheers ...

You also might want to take into consideration that the Adamo and other similar computers (MacBook Air, Voodoo Envy M133, Lenovo X300, etc.) are underpowered when compared to typical notebooks. If your exec needs something powerful, I'd look elsewhere.

It screams coolness, but lacks substance. A slow processor, mediocre screen, no removable battery, mediocre graphics card, and NO built in CD/DVD drive for more than 5 times what you should pay for what you are getting. In my humble opinion, it's a status symbol, and isn't much better than a $400 netbook or low end notebook, you area just paying $2000 more for looks.

Now then, if you want her to have a beautiful system, with awesome specs for alot less than the Adamo, take a look at the Studio XPS 16 with 1080p screen. Beauty and brains! DON'T CHEAP OUT ON THE 720p Screen!

If you need a smaller form factor, take a look at the Studio XPS 13.

Both Studio XPS's have external video adapters.

I vote for the Precision line of Dells laptops

You have XP down grade rights, better support for buisness from Dell.
