When I power on the green light flickers and it's dead. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Thanks. Lil

Welcome to NBF.

Is this 9300 a Dell, HP, Gateway ...? Is it just happening?

cheers ...

Dell 9300. Yes, just happened tonight. Thx.

I would try first removing the battery, ac adapter; then hold down the power button for 30-40secs. Put the ac adapter back and try again, and the battery.

worst case is that it could be totally dead and at that point its new laptop time but try doing what has been suggested and see what the results are, let us know

I encountered this same scenario before where upon powering up, the LED would light up but the laptop wouldn't power on. It turned out to be faulty RAM. It sounds weird but when the engineers took out one of the faulty RAM chips, the laptop powered up.... when it was put back, the problem came back.

I'm not sure if this is the same as what you're encountering but it's worth a try....

Hope this helps...

I 2nd this motion from kos. Next try is the ram swapping and reseating.

This may seem redundant, but I definitely think you should try testing each RAM module independently as others have said.

Thanks for the reminder, we just tested the memory again and independent of each other but still no improvement.

Is there any chances to borrow another working ac adapter somewhere?

We just want to eliminate the peripheries (potential) issues.

Let's hope it's the power cord, on my way now to try out another same type power cord from a friend. Thanks everyone, will let you know

I had a similar problem with my 9300. The power cord had a shortage in it.
