Well

I had a RTL8187L mini pci-e in my notebook and, i upgraded to this Atheros AR5BXB6(Apple original wifi card).

When i tryed to boot, it just did nothing! ...even turn on.

the thing is that i already tryed with nother card and i had the same problem.

One important thing is that my notebook has only 1 antenna (black) and this other card, has 2 antenna conections.

could be the missing of 1 antenna doing it?

IMPORTANT: IF i use Intel 3945 wifi card, EVEN with only 1 antella connected, it works just fine.

No, but it is possible that the card is being "black listed", so not to be recognized by your model.

cheers ...

Yeah its nothing new for notebooks to not support certain WIFI cards. There is a rather sophisticated BIOS hacking method for some computers but your situation seems a bit different. I actually have that exact same Atheros card in my Dell M1710 and it works fine (I have 3 antenna pigtails and the card only has two antenna hookups).

now, i opened the aluminim cover of the card and i saw 2 burned chips...

could it happened in my notebook? i mean... could the "black listed" card be burned because is not compatible?
i think that this card already came crashed to me.

this is kind a hope, because if the seller send me another one, i´ll definitely make sure right?

because, if this card was burned by my laptop, it should not work anymore right?
but, i did swap back to the original one (RTL8187L) and it´s everything fine, no signs of damage or anything else...

Lucky

The card was probably defect, or you want to be careful next time inserting the card.

cheers ...
