AVG and Alcohol 52%

Has anyone here had the chance to use Alcohol 52%? I've been using it for the past year and everytime I do a scan using AVG, one of the files in the Alcohol 52% folder turns up as a trojan. The file is star_syn_client.dll. I am not sure if it's an AVG bug or if it's really a potential trojan. I downloaded the Alcohol installer from www.download.com so I am not entirely sure it is a trojan...

Your ideas are highly appreciated.

You should e-mail Alcohol-soft to find out if they are getting reports of this.

Hi Steve, thanks for the advice. I've already sent email to their support engineers about this problem. Hopefully I'll get a response within the day.

Hi,

Just an update on this issue... also hope this info helps others out. Here's a reply from Alcohol support (response was pretty quick!)

"Hello Kenneth, you will find that this is a false positive, there is no Trojan in the star_syn_client.dll and the latest versions of AVG should not identify it as such.

Thank you for your Question concerning our Software.

Best Regards

Dave

Alcohol Soft Support Team"
