I've been thinking of replacing my very old laptop with a new Dell for some time, but haven't seen a definitive comparison of the two screen types. Now the battery's dead, so I'm not real portable and it's time to make a decision.

I have hi-def tvs that support connecting any laptop I buy. Is it imperative that I get the RGB LED to get the 1920 res, or, with a WLED, will I be able to connect as a 2nd monitor and run a higher res when desired? If I went this route, should I get the more expensive vid card to improve my ability to connect to the TV when I really want to see highest definition?

Any other pros/cons for acquiring the more expensive parts that I may have overlooked or not been aware of?

Thanks.
