I am removing the 2nd part of your post due to:

1. Irrelevant to your thread subject

2. Go here for Alienware feedback

I "believe" the fastest proc for the M9750 is clocked at 2.53 ghz.

Anyway, it's one of the Merom processors with the 667fsb, not the Merom with the 800fsb.

The ram that comes with it is not ecc. It's an off brand I've never heard of but it seems to work well.

Slide on over to Neweeg for the ram but I think they only have one 667 Merom proc at the moment and it's not the fastest.

ok so there is no point in upgrading my processor because im 2.33, i was going to get a 2.8 with 800fsb for 30 bucks. i know the fsb on it is too high for the MB but thats ok. just tells me the processor wont have to work so hard. and it will live longer. but if 2.8 is above the laptop's range then screw it. oh well no point in upgrading the ram right now too. haha. mmk.

i think im gona sell my laptop and build a desktop rig, figure sell the laptop for 30.00 bucks, that should help with the new rig

I think the fastest processor for the 9750 is the 2.33Gz. If you are going to replace the RAM I would suggest ether the Kingston Hyper 2X2Ghz (4-4-4-12 timing) or the GSkill 2X2Ghz (4-4-4-12 timing). Ether will cost you about $45.00 from NewEgg.
I purchased a lower end 9750 and then rebuilt it into a higher end system, for about 25% of the the cost from AW. I also went with the Seagate 250Gb SATA 3 (7200RPM, 16Mb cash) X2 set in RAID 0. The performance increase was very noticeable!!

That is what I did with my m9750 replaced some parts to make it faster at a cheaper price from newegg.com....
