No audio 5620Z

I can't get the audio to work anymore and will not let me install the driver from the acer website.

I wanted to update the driver and D/L the realtek HD driver from Acer.

When I ran it, I got a message like: No driver available......

I uninstalled the driver from device Mgr and tried then but same message.

How do I go on the D drive (where restore files are) and install the origional driver.

Also when I get it working, do I need to enable the front line-out (lime green) jack to get audio out?

Thanks for all responses

Its a friends and is using Vista.

Not sure but I checked if it was muted but no.

Went into device mgr and clicked on Realtek HD audio and uninstalled the driver.

When I D/L the realtek driver from acer, it won't let me install it.

Tried installing from usb drive and D/L ed to desktop.

No such luck

Thanks for the response.

You can try this driver here
http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/...&GetDown=false

Make sure that your Vista is up to date also first.

Thread moved to Acer.

Do you have Empowering Technology on your comp ????

I think so. It has everything from the factory.

What would the Empowering Technology have to do with the audio.

THanks

HI, If you've uninstalled the realtek hd audio, you should go into the empowering technology - section eRecovery, click Restore, then Utilities and Drivers, go down the list and you'll find the Realtek Audio, click Install. the wizard will take it from there.
Should fix it !
