Aspire4736z video memory

When I check in the bios, it has the video memory set at 64mb. It does not give me the option to change this value like my old aspire 5100. Does anyone know of a way to increase the video memory on this lappy?

Mobile Intel® GL40 Express Chipset with integrated 3D graphics, featuring Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M (Intel® GMA 4500M) with up to 1759 MB of Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 (64 MB of dedicated video memory, up to 1695 MB of shared system memory), supporting Microsoft® DirectX® 10
There is no setting for you to change. Your GPU has a min of 64MBs of memory dedicated to it and as you use more visual intensive programs, it will draw from the main memory to a max of 1695MBs

That's strange, thought I'd try to play a game which requires 256mb or better. Very slow. Oh well!

Probably required a minimum 256MB of dedicated memory.
What game? Did the laptop meet all the game's prerequisites ie processor, OS.
Take a look at this list of best Video chips for laptops. You will notice that yours GMA 4500M is well down the list
in the Class 3 Low-Midrange Graphics Cards and no, you cannot change them
