Having problem creating Recovery Disks for VGN-NS110E

So I have formatted my drive and installed fresh copy of Vista and I forgot to backup my data.
I have recovered this partition labeled Compaq Diagnostics. Would that be the recovery image for my laptop? I have copied this partition onto an external drive. My question now is what is the next step to do in order to create the recovery disks? Do I boot and try F10? Will that look at the files for recovery that are now on an external drive?
Thanks for your input guys

Is this a used notebook? Could be that the seller just put in another drive.
