You have to give apple credit for addressing criticism of missing functionality.......I wish microsoft would be as forthcoming to address the well founded "speed" issue that winmo has had since WM5.

I don't think I'm ready to go the iphone route yet,as I'm not a fan of buttonless device's,or using my finger's for all input, but they're certainly winning the speed game, and the gap will just get bigger with this new iphone3gs if it is as stated "twice as fast"

Agreed. I am debating between that new iPhone and the nokia N97 - jut because of the extra keyboard.

Have you updated it with "cup cake"? Any issues with Bluetooth Headset after the update? My relative lost the connection to the VMX-100 after the update :-(

I agreed with everything on the G1 after the update. But I am scratching my head about the bluetooth headset, it worked before the update and it currently works with other phones.

I searched and searched and saw others having the same issue, just no concrete fixes. I did flash it back to previous version and the BT headset works, time to bring it back to the shop and see.

Well I know I will be getting the iPhone 3GS. Apple fixed the issues I had with 3G when I had it briefly. Also I like HTC phones. To me they have the best winmo phones. As far as Android, I'm waiting to see it mature as a platform.

I am coming from an HTC phone and this will be my first iphone experience. The 3Gs should be shipping to my house this Friday. What got me to buy this version is the 3 megapixel camera because I am an avid photographer. This should be interesting to say the least how the quality of photos will come out of this little guy. I want to see if this can replace my compact digicam and have less to carry around when Im out.

This is what is being touted with the new camera (source Apple Insider)

"Each iPhone 3G S features a new 3 megapixel autofocus camera that takes pictures and video, making it easier than ever to capture, edit and share those moments instantly with family and friends. The new autofocus camera adjusts focus, exposure, color and contrast for the best possible image and includes an automatic macro focus for extra close up shots.
...
With the new "tap to focus" feature, you simply touch the display to select an object or area of interest and the camera automatically re-adjusts focus and exposure. You can record high-quality video clips and edit them right on your iPhone 3G S by simply trimming the start and stop points. You can also send photos and video by email or MMS and post them to MobileMe or YouTube with just one tap
."

I believe that the extra utilities that come with the camera are more than compensating for the 3mpix device, that is currently less than what Samsung, Nokia, Sony and many others offer.

cheers ...
