Scrolling lag

Hi, I have been lurking here and at NBR, have a little question.

I have an M570RU-U I purchased in December with a T9300, 512mb 9800m GTS, 4gb ram, and wuxga screen.

A little problem I've been having since I got the laptop, on graphically intensive, long (vertically) web pages and pdf files, I get some lag while scrolling.

I'm using the latest (186.03) GPU drivers for my 9800m GTS, and I've had this issue since I got the laptop, even with the stock 178.something drivers that came with the laptop.

Download the 3D benchmark 2006 from internet. Run 3D benchmark. Let's see the scores...

Do I want 3DMark06 or 3DMark Vantage?

I've never used either software before.

3DMark6 is what users mostly choose for benchmarking.

Ran a 3DMark06, I've included the results as attachments.

Cool. Would you want to use this to make your benchmark official in NBF?

The score is in the normal range. Do you see lag while running 3D benchmark?

None at all, I only get lag when I'm scrolling in a browser or opening a pdf.

Browser plug-in missing? Active-X? Flash?

It doesn't look like a video card problem.

Do you feel lag when you open any other types of files? How about pictures on the memory card or on the hard drive?

It's only when scrolling heavy pages in a browser or pdf reader.

I get some occasional lag when opening an installer, but that's UAC working up the courage to ask me for permission to run something.

Qhn, I've added my benchmark randomly to the list of Sager benchmarks, but it's not letting me add it 'officially'. It says I don't have permission.

Try update your pdf reader or get another small footprint one like Foxit Reader. Does this happen also with different browsers?

We are working on fixing this. Will inform you when it is back working 100%.

I still can't think about what might caused that problem.

Is the PDF file on the web or on the hard drive?

If you open any other format of files such as word documents or excel spread sheets, do you feel lag?

I get the same from Foxit and Adobe, and from all browsers.

I've been using Foxit from the start, started using Adobe Reader recently.

Did you download the PDF file first and view the file later or did you view the PDF file online?

This happens with graphic-heavy web pages as well as heavier pdf files. I gave the example of the Dark Sector game manual which was in the game's disc.

It also happens with pdfs of Photoshop shortcuts, or the Tweak Guide.

This might be a wild shot - try to clear out your browser cache and history and see.

I've had this issue since I got the laptop in November.

Any way I could use Fraps or something to make a video?

Never use FRAP myself but heard that many are able to make videos from it. Give us a clip if you can.
