Acer D250 6-cell only runs for an hour

I bought an Acer D250 netbook about a month ago. It's a 6-cell battery yet the battery only lasts for an hour, maybe two. I didn't do this in the beginning when I first got it because I didn't know, but I started keeping it unplugged and letting the battery completely die before charging it again.

But the battery still lasts between 1 hour to 2 hours when it should be closer to 4 or 5 hours.

Is there anything I can do? Please advise, thanks

turn down the lcd brightness and turn off you wireless. then test it. should push closer to 3 hours.

4 to 5 hours of realistic use is kinda high. maybe 4 to 5 hours with everything turned off and just sitting there.

The Intel Atom processor is supposed to keep the laptop from burning through too much battery power I read somewhere. But I will try turning the LCD way down to see if that makes a difference. I mainly use it for the internet so i don't think i'll be turning off the wireless, though. Thanks!
