ok...yeah 400 is a bit expensive, especially since the processor i have my eye on, the t9900, seems about 50 dollars more than the ram . bleh looks like ill be sticking to the processor this summer. so would t9900 increase performance? or would it just be more of those...it'll be able to play games later but wont really help much right now kind of processors? would there be any alt. to ebay? i dont really want to set up paypal and make an ebay account. thanks

t9900 is the same as x9100 but it os 10 watts less so its a big plus. Performance will increase a good amount. The cpu anywjere but ebay is around 800 i think?

t9900 is 450ish on ebay and x9100 is 400.. x9100 is 44 watts while te t9900 is 35 watts. so the x9100 appears better, is that processor completely compatible with the asus g50vt-x1? and how much heat do you think it will produce, compared to the default p8400?

well apparently on ebay (the only place i can seem to get the processor), the x9100 is cheaper than the t9900, should i get the x9100 (compared to OC ability, heat problems, compatiblity issues, etc)?

they're the same frequency, just the x9100 has a higher TDP, so it makes more heat and takes more power

t9900 and x9100 are the same cpus. intel stopped the extreme line and relabeled the x9100 as t9900 and lowered the wattage. x9100 is 350 on ebay. Mine idles at 30c and on heavy load I get 50-60c. thats overclocked also

What is offered on Ebay is what is called an engineering sample. While that might offer value it is far from the same thing. And for all you to say different shocks me.

There are oem x9100s for $350 dude man.
And Revision E0 is the final step/Same as the oem chip. No changes have been made from E0 step to oem.
The step E0 x9100 is $310 and that is the one I bought.
OEM copy is $350.

my cores are 31c idle and 52c full load. oc'd to 3.42. whats not going to happen? I dont have my cooler either.

lol he is tryingto say the x9100 will overheat when in fact it runs cooler than my old p7 series. if your budget is low, an x9100 is the best cpu just make sure you get an oem or step eo revision. of you can find $450 than grab a t9900 for sure .

then def grab a t9900. It has higher overclock capabilities also. I beleive you can hit a good 3.8 stable.

Unless you know things I don't. Which is a real possibility and why I ask.

T9900 will never OC to 3.8Ghz. Reason? I doubt it will because you can't control certain voltage settings on a mobile BIOS. But even more obvious is the RAM. Since the OC is fsb when you OC the CPU you OC the RAM. So you are going to OC 1066Mhz to 1320Mhz? Not going to happen I mean you would need very OC'able RAM they don't make for mobiles and you would need voltage controls or latency options you don't have.

Post back agree/disagree? If you know it is done how is the RAM dealt with as I get about the Same OC as you. 2.53Ghz to 2.85Ghz (300Mhz fsb) very stable. And 3Ghz (315Mhz fsb)not as stable when stress testing. I suspect the RAM is my issue?

So my max is 470Mhz CPU OC and some issues. You think a 730Mhz CPU OC is possible? 330Mhz fsb?

If you know anything I do want to know and learn.

t9900 is 3.08 stock dudette. and ram does not limit you since I easily overxlock my x9100 from 3.06 ro 3.55 and can go more. Ram can easily reach 1200mhz as long as you cool irbgood with a cooler. memory will not limit you lmfao btw an x9100 has reached 4ghz just google it. It is on a toshiba I believe and ram was stock 4gb ddr2 800mhz. He just cooled it very well.

Yes one reason why I ask? OK you don't even know the the CPU clocks of what you talk about OC'ing? T9900 is 3.066Ghz not 3.08 as far as I know.

OK cool you now say RAM can easily reach 1200Mhz? Cool but you ask 1320Mhz do you see the problem? I mean come on post back.

lmao you try and prove a point when the ram is not the limiter. Heat is the limiter once you pass 3.6ghz. stability on your ram clock is a chance game. Some are stable up to 1500mhz while others cant hit past 900mhz, my knowing is from knowledge of other g50 owners on different forums. For instance my ram cannot jump over 920mhz meanwhile a dude's g50(same samsung ddr2 4gb 800mhz stock) can hit 1280. So where is your point? Nowhere. And a qt like do you oc is pathetic when I have pushed my cpu, ram and gpu to a far distance just like many G50 owners have done. Do not throw in your opinion if yet to even try and oc a t9900 or x9100 or anything in that family(x7800, x9000, t9xxxseries) You have also ignored my proof of a guy reaching 4ghz on a t9900. Memory did not stop him, heat was and he had a cooler which withdrew the heat from the exhaust as well as at the same time rush cold air up the vents. You make no sense so just stop arguing please, it kills threads especially a simple one such as this where I help give info to a dude and you ruin it because of your false understanding on fsb overclocking.
