I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

Well what can I say, I needed that little bit of extra storage that as a family we could all use. After searching around I narrowed it down to three suppliers, not the cheapest, but all well...

I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

This is great ram (so far so good). Very fast and efficient Ram. Good for overclocking my Sager np8150

All you have to do is swap out the old processor for the new one. Your computer should then detect the new CPU on boot and all your programs should run fine (and probably faster)

And if it still reports the old then just go to Device Manager an uninstall the CPU. Restart that will force Windows to detect and recognize the correct CPU. This is not really a performance issue only how Windows reports. Happened a lot with the Gateway FX's.

Yepp it will show your old cpu on device manager since it did with everyones' G50. Just do what powerpack said but it makes no difference other than seeing the title. Make sure you use a VERY thin layer of Arctic Silver 5 compound. I spread out a small dot with my old season pass card and the thinness of it makes a godly difference. Like I said, my cpu is 45 watts and has not passed 55C on high load playing Crysis Wars.

A further note on Arctic Silver. As Motok said, spread it thin. His way sounds fine but the most important part is don't use too much. Why? Because the only function of any thermal paste is to fill in microscopic cracks/deviations. Regardless of the wonderful heat transfer capabilities they claim. Thermal compounds are not meant to prevent or interfere with metal on metal contact. They only fill in the gaps. Too much is worse than none at all.
Edit: And Motok not to rekindle the prior OC issue but a X9100 with it's unlocked multipliers and BIOS support can change the multipliers without affecting FSB/RAM. Then you start OC ahead of the game. But in all seriousness if you think not a problem pushing DDR2 above 1200Mhz you need to share your knowledge with others because it is an issue. Even 1066Mhz is an issue that requires voltage increase from 1.8v to 2.1v/2.3v to be stable. That is desktop 1066Mhz RAM so please do not tell me it is just about heat. You talk about better OC than desktop guys with BIOS voltage controls can get.
Just thoughts, consider.

Once again powerpack you are wrong, A g50 bios will not support multiplier overclocking so to the fsb you are limited to. You do not own g50 so do not think you know much about it specificslly. General computer knowledge does not help unless you mention facts you are sure of with his laptop.
To ensure high clocks, you should get ram that is a native 1066mhz. The bios will downclock it to 800mhz but when you overclock say your t9900 if you do decide to go with that your ram can easily handle the clocks up to 1066mhz and probably a bit past that as well. Heat should not be a problem either especially when my x9100 remains pretty low and is 10watts higher.

We own the G50VT-X1 and I am interested in the ram module that is native 1066mhz as you suggested to try out.
You have a link where we can get these modules? My google/yahoo only shows 1066mhz native for Desktop PC and not for notebooks.
cheers ...

g5ovt-x1 is the same laptop as an x5 besides the fact that it comes stock with a cpu that is 100mhz faster and a less 6cell battery. All g50vt revisions are the same laptops besides for different screen resolutions, batteries, and cpus offered when buying stock.
Dude I am not sure but check newegg for ddr2 1066mhz ram. By theory this should work and help you oc with fsb if you are limited by the memory clock. You can tell if you get bsod when ocing that says memory failure or something close to that on top. I'm actually going to try this as well. I'll post the ram modules I find.

No go! Newegg, Crucial ... Only available for Desktop PCs!
I will dig further as where to find this ram module for notebooks since theoretical talks and discussions do not interest/impress me!

Reading is good, challenging/proving the statements with personal (from self or proven acquaintances) experiences are better.
