Buying a new laptop -- need some "guidance"

Hey!

I'm getting a new laptop, but I haven't decided which one to get yet, or even what brand.

I'm looking for something in the $700-1200 price range. 13-16 inches screen, good enough to run Battlefield 2. That's pretty much all I care about. That, aesthetics and build quality.

Bsically, is there anything I should be wary about? A certain brand or model series that is known to break or not perform like it should? Any brands in specific I should look at? Mac, Dell, Acer, Asus, MSI? Also, is there anything any of you would recommend?

Thanks

The Clevo KHLB2 (sager 2098) is a nice budget option. HD4670 GPU is quite capable.

Thanks, I'll take a look. How's the build quality?

About average I'd say. If you want something well build, you'd have to settle for a slightly weaker GPU.

What are my options if I step down in GPU power?

The Thinkpad T500 is a good option. Magnesium chassis (main body) and rollcage (lid), excellent keyboard. Dull looking, but it gets the job done. It has the ATI HD3650, and an Intel integrated card, you can switch between the two to save battery life.

Its actually the HD 4650, but it barely makes any difference because its basically the same as the HD 4670 except with slower clock speeds.
