How to turn off *logo* (top) lights

Hi,

I know I can disable the side lights in Direct Console, or blink them, etc, but how can I disable the logo ("Republic of Gamers") light, on the top of the notebook?

I searched for it in the BIOS, but I found nothing. Is there any way to do that (even through firmware/BIOS update)? Tape is not an option for me

Maybe uninstalling Direct Console completely might shut off the logo light. I don't know, but it might work.

I don't think so, because even without the Direct Console, such as in linux or during the boot, all lights are on.

In that case, you're probably going to have to mess around with BIOS settings in order to turn it off.

I tried to "mess around with BIOS settings", but there isn't any option related to LEDs or lights there.

huh. in that case, it's possible the only way to turn off the logo light is to cut the wires powering it. But of course, if you do that, it's a permanent solution and you wouldn't be able to turn it on again.

I have been looking for a solution myself. And short from disconnecting the wires and LEDs, one is stuck. Too bad Asus does not offer the option of turning off the LEDs like my Gateway P-7811FX - Fn+F1

No one knows of any BIOS update or "unnoficial patch"? I prefer a software solution.

It is VERY simple actually. Literally just a pull of a plug. It is located behind the lcd bezel on the left of where the "ASUS" logo. It has a tag on it which says led. I'd make a small diagram but am too lazy since I just woke up dude. I'll try and take a pic of it and post it later.
