What Model Screen Do I Have?

Hello folks,

Sorry for asking this question. And, yes, I know it's been asked many times. But for the life of me, I can't seem to find any threads that answers my question ...

My question is, what free utility can I use that will identify the make and model of the components on my Studio 1737? More specifically the LCD/LED display.

Cheers,

grecinos

Go into the control panel>system>hardware>device manager>plug and play monitor>properties>detail's and you should see the screen ID like SEC for samsung,LPL for LG etc, dell also use sharp and one other brand which I don't know the abbreviation's for

Hmmm... mine only says, "Generic PnP Monitor". I have it plugged into my 32" TV so there's actually 2 "Generic PnP Monitor" descriptions. None of which the properties designate the model of the screens.

Go to Dell website and enter your service tag (from sticker on the bottom). It will show the complete list of parts that are in your laptop.

I think this is the link. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx

if not, search the dell website, its somewhere there, i used it like 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the info. Here's what it says, "Liquid Crystal Display 17WUXGA, Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, MULTI-MEDIA..., TLF, SAMSUNG".

So I guess it's not an LED, my curiosity has been satisfied. Regardless, I have no problems with this display. It looks fantastic IMHO .
