Acer 5735-4774 recovery disk questions.

One of the OEM memory modules took a hike, so I replaced both modules with a Corsair 2x2gb DDR2 800MHz kit.

Did the Alt-F10 and got Vista back.

While deleting all the bloat-ware I was prompted to make the Recovery Disk.

I went ahead and made the Recovery Disk after deleting all the game stuff.

After all that business I went ahead and finished deleting the NTI back up 5 and a couple other things.

Now I am in the process of installing the downloaded .exe SP2 for Vista and will jump online and do some other Microsoft updates (Defender, Explorer 8) the usual stuff.

Can I make another set of restore disk that will have all the updates and all that buiness? Or is the restore disk option just for when you first start using the system?

Thanks for any help as I would really like the Recovery Disk to reflect all the updates, minus the bloat-ware if possible.

Thanks again for any feedback, information or help.

you should be able to create user backups using erecovery. if I remember, you can create backups to a HDD, or to cd/dvd media.

Thank you for the reply Michelle.

I was just wondering if the Acer recovery just copies the recovery partition on the hard drive or actually makes recovery disk from the C: drive or OS partition that contains the OS and programs with updates and all that business.

Thanks again for the reply.

just the recovery partition is the "factory default" option

user backups are of your data, C: partition. hence, "user" backups.
