Battery looks pregnant?...WTF?

Battery problem or what?
No...I didn't spill water on it , drop it into the hot tub, or leave it out in a rainstorm.
MBP is always kept indoors at my office.
Battery light still shows full charge.

Any ideas?
My MBP was purchased Dec 2006.

Ouch, looking like it is about to explode :-(

I'd take it to a nearest Apple Store asap. Looking like the cells are disintegrating.

cheers ...

Don't use it again. Take it out, take it to the Apple store. I would consider it a fire hazard at this point, so keep it somewhere safe in the meantime.

I agree with all said above. This a real danger. I don't know how but looks like your battery overcharged. Did you use a different adapter ever? Regardless this battery is toast don't use and get knew. Internal circuit likely failed.

Update:
Kudos to my local Apple Store.
I stopped out yesterday and showed them the pregnant battery.
The kid told me my MBP was out of warranty..etc..
I said...."Check again as I remember seeing something on the Apple site about a a recall of some type on these defective 2006-2007 batteries."
He checked again and said..."Your right...sorry for the mix up"
They replaced the battery for free.
All is well.

That just goes to show that you should always double check and never just retire after an answer from the tech guys down at the computer store lol. There's no way I would have even let you go with a battery looking like that

Good news that you got it replaced
