Hi all

I am intending to buy acer aspire 5738G next friday. But I cannot find any valuable reviews on the net . I am concerned about it build and durability. the specs are fine. can any one tell me is it strongly built and durable or not. I hear a lot about the acer screen damage and other stuff.

Please guys give me feedback asap.

thanks

This seems to be a region UK notebook that didn't get much press. Your guess is as good as ours.

I heard pretty much the same thing (general statement) regarding other notebook manufacturers as well.

Acer is well established notebook manufacturers, just like many others, with many satisfying and repeated customers.

Something one should consider nowadays with any notebooks - get an extended warranty.

cheers ...

any feedbacks guys?

any body used this laptop?

Yeah. i have had the unfortunate experience of buying this laptop.
The specs look great, but the actual machine is rubbish.

Trying to play any game using DirectX 9 or 10 crashes after about 5 mins.
Trying to watch a DVD crashes at some random interval.
Using External USB Drives gives a BSOD or a total lockup.

Now, there may be a problem with just this particular machine, but it's going back on Monday.
It's not just the OS as I have reinstalled it and also tried XP and Linux with similar results.

Definately one to be careful of.

man I have already bought it since about a month. and I have finished assasins creed on it. it works great. When I first bought it and the technician in the store was setting it up we found out that the vega card is not functioning. they changed the machine with a new one and it is working fine till now.

I don't think that a company like acer is producing thousands of machines with the performance you stated. It is definitely a software problem or a problem in this particular machine.

send it back to manufacturer and get a new one. also as an advise get a cooling pad because it overheats when playing heavy games. (most of new laps do)

dont worry your lap is good
